How To Find Your Appliance Model Number

    by Appliance Center of Toledo

If you want to schedule a service call from Appliance Center Service or order a part for an appliance, there’s an important piece of information, we’ll need from you: the model number of the appliance. For example, if you’re ordering a replacement shelf for a refrigerator, having the model number ensures you get exactly the right size.  If your appliance is older, the model number allows us to check to make sure parts are still easily available.

If you purchased your appliance from Appliance Center, we should easily be able to look up that information as long as you provide us with the name and phone number you used when purchasing the item. We’ll also be able to let you know if the item is still covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

If you purchased the appliance somewhere else, you’ll need to find the model number.  If you still have the receipt or other documentation from that purchase. If not, you’ll want to go looking for the model number.  On some newer models, you might find a QR code. If you have a smartphone, you can scan it and you’ll be taken to a page with information about your model.

Here’s a list of some likely locations where you’ll find the model number on your appliances:

    Top Load Washers

If you’re lucky, you’ll find that information on the inside of the lid. If not look near the bottom of the front or side of the washers. If you don’t see it, you’ll want to check the pack of the washer. The information could be near the water hoses, on the back of the control panel.

    Front Loading Washers & Dryers

Look inside the door. The model number may be on the frame or inside the door. If you don’t see it there, check the kickplate.

    Refrigerators

The model number could be right inside the door or on the door frame.  You should also check the ceiling of the refrigerator or the inside wall of the freezer. Also, check the inside walls.  Then it gets more complicated. The model number might be on the wall behind the crisper drawer or on the floor beneath it. If you don’t find it there, check behind the kick plate.

    Ranges

Popular spots for the model numbers on a range are on the inside of the oven door or warming/drawing door.  It may also be on the bottom side of the unit or on the back next to the vent. If the top of the range lifts up, it may also be under there.
