The area’s premier food truck BBQ event served up some hot competition at Appliance Center’s Maumee Superstore on Saturday, May 14.
Top BBQ food trucks threw down in the parking lot to crown the 419’s BBQ champion. It’s was all to benefit an even more important battle—the fight against breast cancer in Northwest Ohio.
Despite the hot weather, people turned out in droves to the free event to sample the smoky deliciousness and tasty sides
The event also featured celebrity judges, live music, fun for kids, and a raffle to benefit the Komen Foundation of NWO.
Judges included football star and local restaurant owner Jordan Strack, WTOL’s Meteorologist Ryan Wichman and Sports Director Jordan Strack, Guy in the 419, Pat McCarty, Private Chef and food media personality Chef Charine, and media personality (and past winner of the Toledo Rib Off Media rib competition) Laura Emerson.
There were also chances to win great prizes in a raffle to benefit the Komen Foundation of NWO.
Deet’s, O’Henry’s, Big Mealz on Wheelz, Miss Molly’s Taste of Texas, Whiskey Jack’s, Stella Blue, and Wicked Wiches & BBQ offered up delicous food. And the judges carefully evaluated ribs, chicken, pork shoulder, sides, and sauce entries. Plus, the public had a chance to cast votes for their favorites.
This year's winners were:

Sides – O’Henry’s
