Dishwasher Not Drying? Try These 3 Tips

    by Appliance Center

If your dishwasher doesn’t seem to be drying dishes properly there are some simple fixes that can take care of the problem.

    Add a Rinse Aid

The solution can be as simple as adding a rinse aid. Rinse aids help water roll off dishes so they can dry faster. If you use a rinse aid, make sure to check the rinse aid dispenser on your dishwasher to make sure it’s not clogged or damaged.

    Use the Right Setting

Some dishwasher settings are better than others at drying. Energy setting savings are typically less effective at drying dishes. If your dishwasher features a heated drying setting, make sure to choose that.

    Heat up the Water

If you aren’t using a heated drying setting, you want the water to be very hot to encourage evaporation. Since most dishwashers are connected to the same water line as the sink, try running the faucet to heat up the water for a few minutes before starting the dishwasher.

    Technical Difficulties

If one of these quick fixes doesn’t help, you may be looking at a defective heating element, thermostat, wiring, or fan.
